On 3rd July 2019, the University of Peloponnese in Nafplion has bestowed on Eugenio Barba his 13th Honorary Doctorate for his artistic merits and scientific contribution to theatre anthropology.

4 – 6 JULY 2019 – INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM – A TRIBUTE TO EUGENIO BARBA
On July 4-6 the European Cultural Centre of Delphi held an international symposium as a tribute to Eugenio Barba’s long list of ground-breaking achievements with Odin Teatret and the International School of Theatre Anthropology (ISTA). The symposium with the title Odin and Dionysus: The Spirit of Laboratory. A Tribute to Eugenio Barba, lasted three-days and highlighted Eugenio Barba’s accomplishments through performances by Odin Teatret, films, installations and lectures by scholars and critics from Greece, France, Spain, Italy, Great Britain, Germany and Denmark.

The Five Continents of Theatre. Facts and Legends about the Material Culture of the Actorby Eugenio Barba and Nicola Savarese has been published in English, Italian, Romanian and in the course of 2019 will appear in Spanish and French. This second volume about Theatre Anthropology with more than 1,400 illustrations follows the authors’ book A Dictionary of Theatre Anthropology: The Secret Art of the Performer.
